What Is a Custom Printed Rain Jacket? Full-Surface Team Design Guide

What Is a Custom Printed Rain Jacket? Full-Surface Team Design Guide

What is a custom printed rain jacket?

A custom printed rain jacket is more than a stock jacket with a small crest added to the chest. Team colours, patterns, badges, sponsors and supporting graphics are planned across the front, back and sleeve panels before production. This creates a complete team garment instead of limiting identity to one logo.

The new imajersey digital rain jacket models are designed for sports clubs, schools, event teams and organisations that want to retain a unified appearance in wind and light rain. View the available designs and technical options on the raincoat models page.

How is it different from a plain logo rain jacket?

On a plain jacket, personalisation is normally limited to a logo or text on the chest, back or sleeve. A full-surface digital design can integrate colour transitions, geometric forms, stripes, mottos and larger graphics into the garment itself. It can therefore coordinate with the club jersey and tracksuit as one visual system.

  • More design space: front, back and sleeves can form one coherent composition.
  • Colour freedom: primary and secondary team colours can be distributed across panels.
  • Clear hierarchy: badge, sponsors and names can be planned together.
  • Repeatability: the approved design reference can support later repeat orders.

Plan patterns around real garment panels

A design that looks strong on a flat screen may change after it is divided into front, back, sleeve, shoulder and hood panels. Artwork crossing a seam needs realistic joining tolerance. Very thin lines, text placed over the main zip and logos interrupted by a pocket should be corrected before approval.

Approve front, back and side production views instead of relying on a single flat image. Teams beginning with AI or reference artwork can also use our guide to turning an AI jersey image into a real product as a practical briefing framework.

Choose team colours for visibility

A rain jacket is often worn over a jersey or tracksuit, so it should belong to the same visual family. The primary colour should identify the club from a distance, while supporting colours should keep the badge, sponsor and staff markings readable. Light artwork on a dark ground, or dark artwork on a light ground, usually produces reliable contrast.

RGB screen colours may not reproduce identically on fabric. When brand colour is critical, review the colour code, a physical reference and the production sample together. Coordinate the palette with the club’s team tracksuits to create a consistent collection.

Badge, sponsor, name and number placement

The club badge normally leads the identity on the chest. Sponsor artwork should not overpower it, and long names should not be divided by a zip, pocket or seam. If a large mark is used on the back, confirm how much of it will be covered by the hood.

For personalised jackets, prepare one table containing each person’s name, number, size and quantity. A controlled list reduces production errors. Our logo, sponsor, name and number placement guide explains visual hierarchy in greater detail.

Fabric and lining still matter

The artwork should never hide the practical purpose of the garment. Taffeta options can provide a light, practical structure, while micro fabric can offer a softer handle. Unlined models suit light and active use; lined models can add comfort in cool and windy conditions. These jackets use water-resistant technical fabrics for wind and light rain. If prolonged heavy rain is expected, define the required technical performance separately.

Full-length zips, zipped side pockets, hoods and lining must be decided before artwork is finalised because every component changes where a pattern is cut.

Four new full-print rain jacket examples

These models demonstrate different design directions. A new composition can be prepared from your own colours, badge and sponsor system.

What should the order brief include?

  1. Total quantity and size distribution
  2. Primary and secondary team colours
  3. Vector badge, sponsor and text files
  4. Fabric and lined or unlined preference
  5. Any variable names and numbers
  6. Use case and required delivery date

The minimum order for rain jacket models is 10 pieces. Average production is 7–12 business days after design approval; quantity, fabric supply, revisions and production capacity can affect timing. For the broader order workflow, see the custom jersey manufacturing page.

Frequently asked questions

Does digital printing mean a logo only?

No. The logo can be part of the design, while colours, patterns and larger graphic areas can also cover the garment panels.

Can the jacket use our exact team identity?

Yes. Share the badge, colours, sponsors and preferred visual direction so the artwork can be prepared around your club identity.

Is the jacket fully waterproof?

The models use water-resistant technical fabrics for wind and light rain. Requirements for prolonged heavy rain should be specified separately so the fabric, seams and components can be assessed correctly.

Can we approve the design before production?

Yes. Colour, pattern, badge and placement are approved in the design stage before production is planned.

Carry team identity across the entire jacket

A full-print rain jacket creates a unified look at training, matches, travel and outdoor events. The best result comes from planning panel continuity, contrast, fabric, lining and personalisation data as one production system.
